Salesforce Partners with OpenAI to Bring Generative AI to the Business Software Industry
Salesforce, the owner of business communication software Slack, has announced that it is partnering with OpenAI to bring generative artificial intelligence (AI) to not just Slack, but to the entire business software industry. This move is aimed at helping people using business software to perform different tasks, including generating email drafts, retrieving customer-account information, and even writing computer code.
To achieve this goal, Salesforce will combine its proprietary AI technology named EinsteinGPT with OpenAI's generative AI technology. The combined AI will empower users with unique AI features, allowing them to interact with their customers in new and exciting ways.
As part of this partnership, Slack will also feature ChatGPT integration, allowing users to summarize long group conversations quickly and easily. Instead of having to read through hundreds of messages, users can simply use the generative AI to get an overview of the conversation's key points.
Salesforce's Clara Shih, a general manager at the company, explained that their proprietary data and AI models would help differentiate their offering from other companies. She added that Salesforce's generative AI tools would enable companies to "completely reimagine how they engage with their customers."
Salesforce's announcement is just the latest in a series of moves by leading tech companies to integrate generative AI into their applications. With this trend expected to continue, the business software industry will undoubtedly see further AI-powered innovations in the coming months and years.
