Shadab Khan to lead Pakistan in T20I Series against Afghanistan

Pakistan is set to take on Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series in the UAE, with Shadab Khan leading the side. The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) announced that top players such as Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf will be rested for the series against Afghanistan. In their place, the PCB has opted to include the top performers from the recently concluded PSL (Pakistan Super League).


Shadab Khan, who captained Islamabad United in the PSL, has been appointed as the captain for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan. The young all-rounder has been a regular member of the Pakistan side and has played a pivotal role in the team's recent successes.


The squad for the series against Afghanistan comprises of Shadab Khan (C), Abdullah Shafique, Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihsanullah, Imad Wasim, Muhammad Haris, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shan Masood, Tayyab Tahir, and Zaman Khan. Abrar Ahmed, Hasebullah, and Usama Mir have also been named as reserve players.
