Dubai Named World's Cleanest City for Third Consecutive Year: Insights from Global Power City Index

Dubai has once again earned the title of the world's cleanest city, according to the Global Power City Index (GPCI) by the Mori Memorial Foundation in Japan. This is the third consecutive year that Dubai has secured the top spot on the list, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on his official Twitter account.

The GPCI evaluates and ranks major cities worldwide based on their "magnetism," or their comprehensive power to attract people, capital, and enterprises from around the world. The index measures six functions, including economy, research and development, cultural interaction, livability, environment, and accessibility, providing a multidimensional ranking.

Dubai's top ranking in the GPCI's Environment function highlights the city's commitment to cleanliness and sustainability. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the importance of cleanliness as a part of culture and faith, stating that Dubai is not only the world's cleanest city but also the safest and most beautiful.

The GPCI's analysis of the ranking's specific components further illustrates the strengths, weaknesses, and challenges of global cities in a constantly changing world. Dubai's consecutive wins in the GPCI serve as a testament to the city's ongoing efforts to maintain its position as a world-class destination for people, capital, and enterprises. Let us continue to keep it safe, stable, and prosperous.
